Dear Silver Band Members,

As some of you may know, our dear friend Jerry Pokarney passed away on Friday.  We will miss him terribly and it will be a very different Tuesday evening without him.

Ammerland was a very special piece to him and it spoke to his heart very deeply.  Because of this, I have decided that instead of doing the Candlelight Carol for the Mayor's Concert, we will perform Ammerland in his memory.  JoAnn will have this ready for us for our upcoming rehearsal.

I don't yet have details regarding a service for him but when I do I will let you know.

Rehearsal for Tuesday, November 17

Hi everyone,

Before I give you an update on what is happening for next week's rehearsal, there is something important that needs to be addressed.  I have noticed that the talking during rehearsal has become increasingly worse.  It is very difficult not only for me to effectively do what I need to do, but it's also detrimental to the other members of the band.  In fact, I've had quite a few people speak to me about what's been going on.  I understand that Tuesday nights are a fun night out for us to get together.  However, we need to remember that we are there to get a job done and we went that job to be done well.  Thank you for help in this and let's make the last few rehearsals of 2015 great!

We will be working on the following on Tuesday:
1.  Candlelight Carol:  Focus on tuning and phrasing
2.  Fum, Fum, Fum:  We will work on from 41 to the end.
3.  Celebration:  Focus on tempo, articulations and balance
4.  Rudolph - last half
