Christmas Music Update

Hello everyone,

For several different reasons, we are going to stick with the Celebration piece instead of using the Fanfare.  The Christmas concert will include:

1.  Celebration
2.  Candlelight Carol
3.  Fum, Fum, Fum
4.  Rudolph in Wonderland
5.  Sing-Along medley (to be performed with the Gold Band and choirs)

Also, Julia has asked that everyone pay $5/person for whoever wants to have supper in Magrath before our concert.

Details for the Concert in Magrath

Hello everyone,

Following are the details for our performance in Magrath:

We will be performing with the Westwind School Division Honour Band which is made up from students from Cardston High School, Magrath High School and Raymond High School.  The concert is on November 7 in Magrath at the high school in the Tom Karren Gym.

The Silver Band will perform the Clear Track Polka, the Tritsch-Tratsch Polka and the Sound of Music.  We will also be playing Ammerland with the Honour Band.

Warm-up will be at 6:30 pm with the concert beginning at 7:00.  Julia anticipates that the concert will finish by approximately 8:30 p.m.

Julia has asked if we would be able to join the band for a quick, combined rehearsal beginning at 5:00 and ending at 5:30.

Congratulations!

Hello and congratulations on a terrific performance last night!  I had a lot of very positive feedback from the audience members and they were so grateful that we joined them.

Now, it's on to the countdown to Christmas!  I've updated the post with the recordings for what we will be performing on December 5.  The pieces that we will be playing are:  Celebration, Candlelight Carol, Fum Fum Fum and Rudolph in Wonderland.  We will not be having rehearsal this coming Tuesday but will resume on Tuesday, October 27.  This gives us 6 rehearsals to prepare.

Enjoy your week off!

Rehearsal Plan for September 29

Hi everyone,

Here's what the plan is for next week:

1.  Please be prepared to spend a lot of time on the Sound of Music medley.  None of us have the music yet but we will need to spend some quality time with it!
2.  Should the final piece arrive (Waltz Time with Strauss) will also work extensively on that.  If not, I may have found a sing-a-long that we can add to our program.
3.  Radetzky March - trio section
4.  Ammerland - ending, run through with a focus on balance.
5.  Tritsch - all, as close to tempo as possible.
6.  Clear Track - all, as close to tempo as possible.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this, the drumming workshop or the upcoming concert!
