Despite a lot of missing members, it was a good rehearsal and we managed to get quite a bit done. Next week, Greg Tiffin will be joining us in percussion and that will make a huge difference in all of our pieces.
For next week, please consider the following:
- Listen to the recordings of all of our pieces. It really helps to put your own parts into context, and to get the overall idea of the piece.
- Practice Irish Party and Sleeping Place as close to up to tempo as possible.
- Work out the technical bugs and dynamics in Bobby's Blues and Normandy Beach.
- Consider the "unwritten" dynamics in the Adagio and Silent Hills. What can you do to make your part musical?
