Rehearsal Schedule for December 2

Hello everyone,

Sorry the delay in getting this up. I was up to my eyeballs with parent-teacher interviews!

Just a few quick things. I've put up a recording of Carol Triptych on the blog. Just click on "MP3 Audio" when you get there. Also, thanks to Bonnie for taking care of handing out tickets for the concert. Please remember to sell as many as you can. Money received or extra tickets need to be returned to Bonnie.

Also, for anyone interested, there will be a concert at the Salvation Army Church at 7:30 on Saturday night.

Here's the focus for next week:
1. Silver Bells - tuning and putting all the parts together with the tempo changes.
2. Carol Triptych - Please focus on the last section - Sing We Now of Christmas. We need to put it together as an ensemble so it's important that everyone has their parts learned.
3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas - We'll work on "Welcome Christmas" as well as the transitions between the different songs of the medley.
4. Carol of the Candle - We will work on the whole piece, focusing on tuning, balance and blend.

Rehearsal Schedule for Tuesday, November 24

Hi everyone,

Here's some information for the next week:

1. LCBS Annual General Meeting - 10:00 a.m. at the Bowman Arts Centre
2. If anyone is interested in getting the music for Carol Triptych before next week, please contact Tracy.
3. The music we will be rehearsing next week is as follows:

c. Carol of the Candle
d. Silver Bells
4. The concert information is: Saturday, December 12, 7:00 pm, Southminster United Church

Concert Information

There is one important thing that I forgot to mention as part of our uniform on Sunday:

PLEASE WEAR A POPPY!

Thanks for your hard work everyone and I look forward to a terrific performance on Sunday. My special thanks go to our concert organizing committee: David Kaminski, Laurie Kaminski, Chad Tinordi and Bonnie Plewes.

Please remember that there will be no rehearsal on Tuesday, November 10. However, music will be available to be handed out at the concert on Sunday so you can have a look. We will be performing 3 or 4 pieces at the Mayor's Concert and will be selecting that music from the many that you will get on Sunday.

One more thing. My school is selling poinsettias for Christmas as a fundraiser and part of that money goes to my band program. If anyone is interested in buying some please let me know. They are available in red, pink and white and are $12 each. How's that for a shameless plug?!
