Thanks for a long but productive rehearsal tonight. We're getting there!

Here's the schedule for next week:

7:00 - Harlem Nocturne Full Jazz Ensemble

8:00 - March of the Belgian Parachutists
8:20 - Rhosymedre
8:30 - Break

9:05 - Amparito Rocal
9:20 - Rolling Thunder

Rehearsal Schedule for May 19

Hi everyone,

Well, there are only four rehearsals until the concert! I hope that all of you have been taking a little time out of your busy schedules to review the "old" stuff and to keep up and the trickier parts. We have two more weeks of clinicians (May 19 and 26) so let's use our time (and clinicians!) wisely! Be sure to ask the any questions that you need to.

Here is the rehearsal schedule for tonight:
6:30 - 8:00 - Clarinet sectionals
7:00 - 8:00 - Sectionals for everyone else
8:00 - 8:10 - Break
8:10 - Daydreams - with David Renter
8:25 - Rondo - with David Renter
8:50 - Rolling Thunder (run through only)
8:55 - Rhosymedre - the focus tonight is playing long moving lines so that the motion doesn't "stall". We need to play it as if we were singing it.
9:05 - Amparito Roca - run through
9:10 - Country Call - transition sections
9:20 - Harlem Nocturne - all, with a focus on articulations

Sectionals: 7:00 - 8:00 (except for clarinets - 6:30 - 8:00)

Update for May 5 Rehearsal

Harlem Nocturne has arrived. The piece will be handed out to the players in the jazz ensemble and will be asked to look at it over the following so that we can rehearse it from 9:10 to 9:30 on Tuesday, May 12. I'm also posting this message on the blog at lethbridgesilverband.blogspot.com. Please remember to arrive by 6:50 tomorrow evening. There will be no clinician for the clarinetists tomorrow but they will rehearse from 6:30 to 8:00 on Tuesday, May 12. On Tuesday, May 26, there will be no clinician for the saxophones.

The clinicians are:
